VISION

BCW 2.jpg

RE-ESTABLISHING

THE WHITHORN “WHITE HOUSE”

23-27 George Street, DG8 8NS.

Getting the College ready for Coming Students, Ministers, Visiting Missionaries so required in our nation and co-workers in the Mission

1 ANTIOCH.jpg

Ninian in 397AD built a White House in Whithorn

to train those called to Christian Ministry

2 CARDONESS.jpg

With a passion to not only restore the White House of Whithorn to once more train Christian Ministers, but another vision also came to us, to hold fast to the passions of Covenanters prepared to die for their faith as many of them did.

This passion inspired Rees Howells in the 1920’s to believe by faith for a College, a College at Swansea that changed the world “perfecting the saints” for the work of the ministry.

One such saint was William Griffiths, father of David, one of the founders of the restored Bible College of Wales, who with the late Brian Mason (who trained under Samuel Rees Howells at Swansea in the 1970’s) and David’s wife Lindsay re-founded not only the White House of Whithorn but a White House that now embraced the sacrifice of the covenanters, the vision of Rees Howells.

REES HOWELLS.jpg
DAD.jpg

The White House of Whithorn not only operates as an online College with a residential team of David and Lindsay Griffiths plus Pamela Masih but also looks to house a television studio creating and livestreaming thousands of television programmes that are deeply spiritual, impacting the nations of the world which we believe Ninian would have done in his day, had the technology be available.

https://www.thebiblecollegeofwales.org/

DSCI0466.JPG

The building, part of a conservation area in Whithorn, however, is now needing a major refurbishment programme, to keep our voluntary staff warm in the winter and with a pleasant work and residential place all year around.

We plan with your support to build a soundproofed studio at the rear of the building, transferring it from the front of the building to a well-appointed detached area at the back.

In addition, it is important we care for the property in sympathy with the surrounding conservation area, protecting the charity from suffering devaluation of the charity’s worth, the charity owning the building outright.

We therefore ask you to carefully consider our heart and passion in doing what we are doing, restoring the Christian heritage of Scotland in a modern and practical way upholding and continuing the vision of Ninian, the Covenanters and Rees Howells for the benefit of all in Scotland and around the world.

PROJECT NUMBER 1

HEATING AND INSULATI ON

PRESENT SITUATION

Estimated to be 25-30 years old running off kerosene oil and affectionately known as Albert, this old boiler is highly inefficient and costing the charity approximately £4,000 a year to run.

Whilst keeping the present kitchen area warm, the system literally only takes the chill off the rooms with linked radiator - OFFICE AREA, FLAT BATHROOM, HALLWAY, and the two bedrooms in No 23. We therefore have to supplement the heating on cold days with DIMPLEX heaters – thus upping our electricity bills which have gone up enormously in the past three years.

OUR TOTAL ENERGY COSTS therefore for year 23-24 were £9.376-25 which we believe we can reduce substantially with a modern boiler/heating system, and also cut out the need for maintenance costs.

4 OLD BOILER.jpg
3 OLD BOILER.jpg

Note - Government Grants for replacement boilers and insulation only apply to householders or tenants - we are neither

5 HALLWAY DOOR.jpg

As regards to INSULATION the property has serious issues which need sorting out, it being particularly relevant to mention a wind tunnel that proceeds from the loft area of No 25 down the hallways.

It is our view that draught prevention measures be installed as well as replacing two rotted velux roof windows and a corridor door.

ESTIMATE 3: SUNFLOW HEATING SYSTEMS – electric energy efficient system.

Templars Way Industrial Estate, Arley Works, Marlborough Rd, Royal Wootton Bassett SN4 7SR

Powerdown Energy Management

Intelligent electronics reduce the energy usage to the minimum required for your comfort. The heater and room thermostat work together using a combination of methods including chrono-proportional control to reduce the power input smoothly from 100% to 0%.

Direct Acting Heating Elements

The heating elements are fully embedded in the bricks to reduce energy waste and maximise lifetime. It ensures super fast, highly efficient heat transfer directly to the solid core and reduces the risk of oxidisation (rust). Non embedded elements heat air before the core and are more likely to fail.

High Performance Heating Tablets

The unique solid core has been designed to maximise warmth. With high levels of aluminium oxide the tablets retain heat for long periods of time, which increases levels of radiant heat. Radiant heat works like the sun and keeps you warm at a lower air temperature.

Natural Air Convection System

Precision engineered flutes are shaped to promote quick room heat up naturally. The flutes are 25.2mm deep and shaped to create a vortex as the air rises. This helps the room heat quickly without the cost or stuffiness of fan assistance.
